‘Add life to years and not years to life’

That's TV actress Nia Sharma's new belief owing to the current track in her show where her character has been diagnosed with leukemia

There's a touching track going on in Star Plus' show Ek Hazaaron Mein Meri Behna Hai, based on a beautiful relationship between two sisters, Maanvi and Jeevika. Maanvi has been diagnosed with leukemia and is battling it in a positive spirit. This has become the highlight of the TV show.
As part of the show, Maanvi and boyfriend Viraat spent an evening filled with fun and dance with children affected by cancer. The message the channel wants to convey is that it's important to add 'life to one's years and not years to one's life'.
    Says Nia Sharma, who plays
Maanvi in the serial, "It felt great meeting these children from the Cancer Patients Aid Association (CPAA). It made me realise how lucky we all are to be blessed with good health. Not everyone can afford the treatment or has their loved ones around to support them through this trying phase. Spending the evening with these children made me realise that hardships are faced by everyone in every walk of life, it's just how you deal with it and the attitude you portray in beating all odds."
Via the show, CPAA will launch a corpus fund which will provide financial support to children who cannot afford cancer treatment.
