Can plump people live longer than skinny counterparts?

If you're on the heavier side, don't feel morose. In fact, you might have reason to smile too, as a study now says that people who are overweight (not necessarily obese) could outlive their thinner counterparts.

WHAT RESEARCH SAYS
A newspaper that cited the study of around three million people, that was published in the Journal of the American Medical Association, men
tioned that men and women who are slightly plump live longer than those with normal weight. Does this change the notion of normal weight being an indicator of good health? Not really. Experts have also warned that research doesn't mean that there will be negative health effects in case one was overweight.
Another theory also states that those who are overweight might actually exercise more than thinner folk who take up fad diets and starve themselves or resort to smoking to suppress the appetite. Now, question is, do you eat more or lose weight?
